Working at Bodymind could be a great fit for you if:
you want to get involved with a local small business. You’ll often be one half of the work force! You’ll feel valued, needed, and have input. You’ll have direct contact with the owners, who want to know how you’re doing. You’ll get to learn what goes into operating a business.
you like variation in your work day. There’s a good balance of physical activity and desk work. There are fast-paced periods and quiet periods. There will be times when you’ll be controlling crowds, and times when you’ll be alone. You’ll learn and continuously develop a variety of different skills.
you value scheduling predictability. We schedule shifts well in advance (at least three weeks) so that you may plan your life. (This doesn’t apply to unexpected sub work.)
you want flexibility and control. We’ll work with you as best we can if you’re experiencing a change in life circumstances, need time off, or have abnormalities in your schedule. We expect you to make the large majority of your shifts, but we know that life happens.
you like to float. Staff float for free.
you like to meet people. We have a long list of guests who visit often and become friends. We serve people of all ages, backgrounds, races, abilities and disabilities.
you like to help people. By just being a part of the center’s operations, you are helping a lot of people feel better!
Working at Bodymind might not be a good fit for you if:
you are looking for extensive benefit packages. At this time, we’re able to offer full health insurance coverage only to full-time staff who work 30+ hours.
you have trouble with physically demanding work. Your shift will involve at least a couple of hour-long periods of intense fast-paced cleaning in demanding conditions (heat and humidity).
you don’t like floating. It’s not impossible, but it’s generally harder for people to recommend something (glowingly we hope!) that they don’t enjoy themselves. We will give you a float during a training shift so you may experience it.
you smoke tobacco products. We are a health facility and many of our guests are extremely sensitive to tobacco smoke and its lingering odor. Our policy prohibits smoking during work shifts.
you are squeamish about cleaning up after others.
