Bodymind Float Center's 2021 New Year's Resolutions

Originally posted January 19, 2021

2020 has been a year for the history books. Bodymind Float Center was forced to close for about 4 months, but we've weathered the storm! Now that we are in the New Year we'd like to share our resolutions for 2021.

1. Continue to support the well-being of our employees.

Our mission, at its essence, is to support the well-being of our staff, our guests, and the communities we serve. Of course, our day-to-day work addresses this, but we try to go beyond this. The pandemic notwithstanding, we achieved a long-term goal of reaching a $15/hour starting wage.

2. Continue to support the communities we serve.

In 2020, we contributed to many local fundraisers, including the National Kidney Foundation, Santa's Smile, Greater Rochester Area Partnership for the Elderly, and many others.
We are delighted to have raised and donated $3,000 to Climate Solutions Accelerator (https://www.climategfl.org/), an inclusive, nonpartisan, 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to inspiring and facilitating a large-scale climate mobilization in the nine-county
Genesee-Finger Lakes Region.

3. Continue to prioritize the health and sanitation of our facility.

We focused a great deal on enhanced sanitation procedures this year and are happy and relieved to report that there have been no cases of transmission of the Coronavirus at Bodymind Float Center. We spray down all surfaces before and after each guest, treat the water with UV light, filtration, and Hydrogen peroxide, and use ventilation and air purifiers to address airborne particles. Perhaps most important, we have increased the time between float clients from a few moments to at least 90 minutes to give the fans and air purifiers time to work.

I'm not alone in my fervent hope that 2021 sees this pandemic wind down and a renaissance of unity in our nation. We sincerely believe that, if everyone floated, there would be less strife and more harmony on this planet. We are happy to be able to offer this "balm for body and soul" here in upstate New York. I wish you and yours a very happy and, especially, a healthy 2021.

With love,

David, Founder, Bodymind Float Center
